Windows Live Messenger ?
Unless you've modified it within WLMsgr's settings (Tools\Options\History\Conversations)

Vista/Windows 7
C:\Users\<windows logon name>\Documents\My Received Files\<your Messenger Live ID...>\History

XP
C:\Documents and Settings\<windows logon name>\MyDocuments\My Received Files\<your Messenger Live ID...>\History

As far as 'things saved'...you'll have to be a bit more specific :)
