MSN has been okay as a dial-up service. Now I'm getting broadband
(clear.com) and would like to know -

1) If I cancel my MSN account, what happens to my email? Can I continue
to use the same ***@msn.com address through the Hotmail portal?

2) Or must I get a new Hotmail or gmail account and go through the hassle
of changing it all over? [I am not inclined to use a ***@clear.com address,
although they will probably assign me one.]

3) If I do cancel MSN, how long will I have access to my email? Do they
give a 2 month grace period for example?

4) If I do cancel MSN, how can I save my address book/contact list?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A subscription account is converted to a free Hotmail account using the same email address.

Your contact list is available at contacts.live.com. Logon to Hotmail with your msn.com address at contacts.live.com to ensure all
data is present(today). If present, it will remain there post cancellation. If desired, you also have the option at
contacts.live.com to export your contacts to a *.csv file(used for importing into another email client). To export your
contacts(sign on at contacts.live.com, click Manage/Export then follow the instructions).
- Note: If you setup the msn.com email address as an account in WLM using the http protocol, you do not need to import your
contacts(you do need to sign on to Windows Live in WLM to make those contacts available).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It never ceases to amaze me how one can get better and faster and more
complete, and accurate, information through Usenet than you ever could from
a vendor's website and/or their customer service.

In a word - thanks!
