"To-day" on start up

Hi since installing "Live Mail" I get the annoying Today every time I start up.
Please Please Please how do I get rid of it

Today is popping up from WIndows Live Messenger.
Open Windows Live Messenger.
Type Alt to bring up the menu
Select Tools/Options
Sign-in tab
4th selection down, remove the check mark.
Note that you will still occasionally get a pop-up advertisement from Windows
Live on sign-in.
