Cannot uninstall/install/change MSN Explorer 9.6 in Vista SP2 IE7. "We're
sorry, we cannot continue this wizard. You may have been disconnected from
the Internet. Make sure you are connected to the Internet, and then try
running this wizard again. If this problem persists, contact customer
support. 235 OK"

Nice. I think I have had it with this POS program. Anyone know how to get
rid of it short of a fresh install of Vista?

And why are you uninstalling, Earle? Is there a problem you are trying to
resolve?

I was trying to reproduce the instructions for fixing the spell check
problem, when I discovered that I could not install, uninstall or change
anything related to MSN. This is really disconcerting, but I found a
pre-SP2 image backup and all is well now. The problem appears to be related
to SP2 and if it happens to you then you will probably not be happy. :o(

Hey Earle,

The reason you get this issue is due to certain settings on the computer,
Which may block MSN from reaching the Internet.
Its a simple fix to get this resolved, But before that

1> Is it a 32bit or a 64bit version of Vista.
2> Do you have Office Live Add-in in "Program & Features"

Please answer these 2 questions, and I'll be able to deliver a step which
will take care of this issue.

Bookmarked, thanks. I took the opportunity to clean up a half dozen other
lingering problems too. MSN was functioning perfectly (as perfectly as it
can), but if I read Nithin's post correctly this Office Live Add-in thing
was preventing its installer from contacting the Mother Ship. These people
ought to get their act together, maybe even start talking to each other.
Now they are both gone and I am much happier.

I was having the same issue when trying to run the MSN Explorer install, and
removing the Office Live Add-in solved the problem! Thank you! This has been
plaguing me for many months now on several PC's... totally elated that I
finally found a resolution!!!

I am trying uninstall and then reinstall MSN 9, and I get the exact same
message as listed in this post. (I was told to uninstall and reinstall by
Verizon support because my address book in MSN Mail has an error and cannot
show any addresses, although I can see them in Hotmail.) I have 32-bit Vista
and I do have "Office Live Add-in" in Programs. Can you help?
