LifeCam VX-1000 and Windows Live Messenger

So I've installed the driver, did the install, uninstall, and install the software again. More than once. I am still unable to get my webcam to work on Windows Messenger Live. It looks like it's going to load and then shuts down. That's with me just sending the webcam or doing a video call. It's overly frustrating and I don't know what to do. I'm using the VISTA operating system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
