Fyi...
Favorites.live.com should redirect to the SkyDrive Favorites.
If not present, the only way to get them to "Live Favorites' is from IE with the Live Toolbar.
Iirc, the route from MSN would be
MSN - find and copy favorites.xml
Run Patrick Philippot's program to export to bookmark.htm
Import into IE
Install Toolbar to sync to Live Favorites
Here's the full write-up from an earlier post of mine..
<qp>
MSN Favorites
1. MSN Explorer users had the ability to convert MSN Favorites(favorites.xml) to Live Favorites and store them on their online
profile Live ID in Windows Live Favorites
2. Windows Live Favorites was discontinued in April of 2009 and replaced with SkyDrive Favorites.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_Favorites
3. The ability to convert the MSN Favorites to Windows Live Favorites was prior to April 2009.
4. Existing Favorites on Windows Live Favorites(present from either IE or converting Msn Favorities)were auto-migrated to Sky Drive
Favorites(if not present, nothing was migrated).
5. If MSN Favorites were not converted to Windows Live Favorites the Favorites only existed as a hidden, system file on the user's
machine in the \MSNx\user data\{.} folder. In this case, Patrick Phillipot's program/routine would then be necessary to export
the MSN Favorites to a Netscape bookmark.htm file for import into IE.

6. The current SkyDrive Favorites does not import IE Favorites
7. The current Windows Live Toolbar does sync IE Favorites to the SkyDrive Favorites

Yikes!!! Why the change with Verizon? They are pushing me to get a
@verizon.net account, but sounds like I don't need to and everything will
stay the same, just through hotmail. True?
Verizon is apparently dropping their partnership with MSN.
Yes, you can keep the @msn.com account and access it through the Hotmail web
site as a free account.
main account? Will they stay the same also and I won't need to change any
email addresses to hotmail.com?
The child accounts will also revert to free Hotmail accounts and they will not
2. so.....when I lose my MSN Premium, I just won't be able to sign-in to msn
and will need to sign into Hotmail.com via Internet Explorer to access emails
Yes, exactly. MSN Premium will no longer allow you to login when Verizon cancels
it.
3. Right now all my email folders and contacts come up on hotmail.com when I
They will all remain - if they are on the server. Any mail you moved to "folders
on my computer" will only be on the PC and only be available in MSN Explorer, so
move them to the server before the Premium account is closed.
4. And where are favorites on Hotmail.com?
No.
Any Favorites you have in MSN Explorer are only available there. You might want
to see if they exist if you log in at http://favorites.live.com - they used to
sync there, but I don't know if that is still valid.
Thanks
You're welcome.

Post by StephenBYour MSN Premium email account will continue to exist as a free Hotmail account
That LiveID will still be the Billing account LiveID for your Office Live domain
and services. You can verify this by signing in with that LiveID at
https://billing.microsoft.com to see your paid services for that account.

Post by CandBVerizon is no longer offering MSN Premium in our area so within the next two
months I must pay to upgrade or change to a Verizon account or a free Hotmail
account. If I change, what happens to my MSN account that is linked to a
website that I have through my Microsoft Office Live account and I paid MSN
for the domain name? Will I still sign in with the MSN account, have to
change it, lose it, or???
I'm confused. Will losing my MSN Premium in any affect my Microsoft Office
Live Account and my websites.
