I have a Dell laptop and Vista. I have not been able to spell check in MSN.
The only dictionary choices I have in settings are French (France) & French
(Canada). I have gone back and checked and the language I chose for set up
was English. MSN help says "the spelling checker is available only if you
have Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Word, or Microsoft Works installed."
I have Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Works.

You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in OE6 [and
MSN Mail] after you install Office 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974

The spell checker in Office 2007 is not compatible with OE6 or MSN Mail. Try
one of these free spell checkers instead:

Vampirefo's Spell Checker for OE 2.x
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2952

TinySpell (checks spelling as you type)
http://www.tinyspell.m6.net/

Australian English Spell Check
(Also suitable for other English speaking countries.)

If you have an earlier version of Office available as well, see:

Some users (all?) can download Microsoft Digital Image 2006 as part of the
MSN download and this gives them English Language Proofing Tools in MSN
Explorer. Go figure.

Some, not all :)

DI2006 availability varies by the type and/or age of plan(e.g. a legacy MSN Premium Internet Access/Dial Up does not). Different
partner plans may or may not include the software as a downloadable item.
