more and causing them to switch over immediately to another host.
I would advise anyone that works for Microsoft to put a lot of stress of
putting the option out there so The People can choose what they want. Hotmail
could potentially lose thousands if not millions of people due to this
inconvenience.
Precisely what is it about the new Windows Live Mail interface that people
don't like?
- Honestly, as much as the new "Windows Live Classic View" resembles the old
MSN Hotmail interface, the two are different in two ways besides the newer
security, updates, bugs, glitches and errors.
-The People want the old, MSN look.
Even though the Windows Live C-View looks like the old MSN Hotmail view
in some ways, the ways that make it different are the ways everyone is
complaining about. The majority of The People, Myself being one of them and
ALL my family, hate the new, bubbly look. The People want it for basic email,
they use it for the basic email look, stability and ease of use. Then again I
can admit, not many, but few love the new look of Windows Live Mail, the gf
being one of them ;P which is one of the main reasons why Microsoft should
really consider changing and re-adding the option of switching back to the
old (the real classic) MSN Hotmail interface(with updated security and
bugs/glitches/errors, etc.). None of this WLM garbage.
-The Old Feel
There's something about the feel of the old MSN Hotmail interface that
the new WL Mail interface doesn't offer. I'm not the first to say this, at
the bottom of this posting there's two sites and hundreds online with others
saying the same. The new WL interface also seems slower and has contact
storing problems. There are still more than one glitch to be taken care of as
i've read multiple people claiming their emails aren't being sent and
received as they were when using the old MSN interface. It seems somewhat
unstable and is an overall pain to use.
I have to literally force myself and at times it seems painful to log in and
see the WLM theme(s). I use to log in several times a day and would recommend
others use Hotmail for pleasure use due to its ease of use and simplicity.
I'm not saying all people have the same opinion as me but MANY do.
It can't be ignored, all the postings of frustrated people losing multiple
custom created folders, the disappearing of contacts and hundreds of emails
and needed information. It's simply rediculous that all of this happened
because of a choice Microsoft decided to make for The People, they had no
choice in it. They were either switched without choosing to or switched out
of curiosity and hated the new WL Mail interface and were unable to switch
back; the option was stolen from them. The People feel cheated and have been
recommending others to NOT use hotmail anymore due to this inconvenience.
Here are just two of the sites that i've come across, one with extremely
frustrated people and the other with question after question on how to switch
back. It's something microsoft should REALLY put into consideration as many
have lost a lot of information due to the change.

I can see Microsoft wants to improve and expand but choosing a look and
style for someone is a shot in the dark. Chances of getting everyone's
interest in enjoying the same interface is impossible, it seems we either
love or hate the new. The People are either for, or against the new (or
future) look of MSN Hotmail, which is why they should offer both interface
options.
Why not continue to upgrade the security, bugs, glitches and fixes, while
offering the different themes/interfaces, WLMail and classic MSN Hotmail?
Instead of limiting the choices to one, or the other, losing a potential
thousand after thousand due to the involuntary switch, why don't they just
offer both to have the positive thoughts of both interfaces attracting the
public? The more options The People have to select from, the more people will
come and enjoy the pleasure of both interfaces, of whichever they choose. The
more Microsoft has to offer the more business they'll have, the same concept
is applied to anything, sales, themes, services/programs, etc. Rather than
stripping The People of options, some of which have been with hotmail for
many many years, me being one of them. I feel really frustrated and annoyed
with the way Microsoft went about this.

WLM is a lot slower than the origional MSN Hotmail interface. Many people
have computers way slower than mine I couldn't imagine how slow theirs is
running, and i'm running a 3.2 ghz overclocked processor. I've seen many
complaints about the speed also on various boards/forums and I think this is
a major drawback for a lot of people also.

The developers have not satisfied all users, nor can they. However, if you used
the earlier beta versions of Windows Live Hotmail, either public or private, you
would know that the developers listened to feedback and made many changes
throughout the beta period leading up to final release. There will likely be
more changes moving forward.

It would make sense to assume that Hotmail's interface will continue to
evolve to be unique and in other areas common to the
alternatives(competition).

If you like the MSN Explorer mail interface, you can still use that. I get
mine "free" with Qwest DSL, but I believe that there is a low cost "byo
Internet" option also. Or you can now do Hotmail Plus with Outlook, Outlook
Express or you favorite pop3 application.
I have a Gmail account too, which on the surface looks like a good deal.
But what is to stop them from changing the user interface too? I don't pay
for the account, so I accept that I have limited rights with respect to the
features of the software. There is free pop3 access though, with ssl.

As for the users you refer to, who gave you feedback.. Old microsoft diehards, who in reality make a small percentage of hotmail

multiple dozens of pictures.
A variety of web sites provide free hosting, sharing, and sending
