I have been having the very same issue. I was told the problem would be
solved by mid August, but here it is, August 21st, with no change-same
problem. I contacted live support with Qwest and the tech said they keep
pushing the date back with no end in sight for help. He said this has been
going on for a year. We all bought faulty software and I think a class action
law suit is in order. We are being ripped off. They should not sale software
that is faulty.

Damn! That was funny! Now that I have picked myself up off of the
floor......are you an attorney? Because attorneys are the only persons
enriched by class action lawsuits. The class usually gets a pittance. $5, or
so; $10 if they are lucky. More often in coupons than cash.

I got two hundred dollars once from a class action lawsuit related to
questionable actions by managers of a mutual fund. Something to do with
timing of transactions. Darned if I could even understand it. It was a bit
of a consolation.

MSn requires a compatible spell checker(Office 2003, or Works Suite 2006 that includes Word, or the Office 2003 Proofing Tools).
Installation of Outlook 2007 is not a compatible spell checker.

You might consider a third party spell checker.

I have tried everyones suggestions and I just found this free program, that
does the trick, it takes about 1 minute to download and it works! And you
don't have to mess with all that other stuff.

I have an old copy of WORKS 4.5. I thought I would give it a try. Worked in
XP and Vista. I left this message somewhere but sure don't know where now.
Thank you.
If I knew how I would give this copy to everyone who needs it.
What is the Digital Image? Sounds like photo stuff.

but I don't know much more than that.

said, it isn't much of a spell check. Very few options if any.

If you have an MSN Premium subscription and MSN Explorer installed, just run
the MSN Installer from Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, MSN,
Change/Remove, Install additional features. After you log in this will take
you to a screen where you can install Microsoft Digital Image Suite,
Standard Edition. This product although not exactly current for its
intended use includes English Proofing Tools suitable for use with MSN.

You can also install it from http://membercenter.msn.com, Download MSN
Software. Just install the MSN software and when you get to the feature
selection screen then Microsoft Digital Image Suite, Standard Edition should
be available as an option.

Version 4.5, iirc, doesn't include a full version of Microsoft Word which you need...save yourself the effort.

Suite versions of Works contained Word(some also included Digital Image) and the necessary spell checker compatible with MSn, OE
etc.
The version you mentioned you had(see your June 23 post) Works Suite 2000 includes Word 2000.

Fyi...
"Works Suite" versions bundled personal productivity and entertainment software such as Microsoft Money, Encarta, Streets & Trips
and Digital Image. These "Works Suite" versions also bundled a copy of Microsoft Word, although there was never a newer version
bundled than Word 2002.

Digital Image was not in all Works versions, though its predecessor Picture It was since DI was released later than when Works
Suites first appeared

I have seen OEM and retail versions of Word, as well as various Office
suites, for sale on Amazon Marketplace. The supply of old stock is drying
up but you can still find this stuff if you look. Anyone with a MSN Premium
subscription should be able to install Digital Image, which does have the
English Proofing Tools but not Spanish.
