Frank sent me a screen capture of the MSN Explorer sign in screen. I brought my
XP machine with MSN Explorer on it to the office today and poked around to try
and locate any option to disable the sounds made when selecting the profile to
sign in with and the brief musical interlude that plays when signing in.
Apparently, these are not external sounds being loaded by the program, but
appear to be part of the compiled program code. I tried using Process Explorer
and I could see the call to the component that plays the sound, but no call to a
sound file at all. So, it appears that the only way to not hear those sounds is
to mute the speaker output until after signin.

Post by StephenBI don't think attachments work in the web interface. The nntp server accessed
with a new reader will.

Post by FrankNot Sure - Does this Forum accept Attachments, I can send a copy of what the
screen looks like before it opens....It's the screen that has the
multi-colored butterfly and the over the top musical sound before it opens.
Post by StephenBIs this using the Connection Center software or the standard sign-in screen in
MSN Explorer?

Post by FrankSteve Hi, Been there - done that, and you think that would logically be the
magic bullet BUT, alas, it was to no avail...Man, this is a real bugger to
figure out?
Post by StephenBFrom memory, since I don't have immediate access to a machine with MSN Explorer
at the moment.
