I have followed the instructions to the letter and I keep getting an error message that tells me to enter the "correct email address". I have changed the settings to all of the parameters to no avail... Help, Alex

Not true. This will work for any legacy POP3 account which previously use
the pop3.email.msn.com servers

me, I can receive mail only, still get the error sending. Sends fine with
the old settings. And, believe me, I have checked and double checked every
setting

The only thing I would add to Peter's post to ensure additional clarity
Ensure that SPA is checked off in both places on the OE/Servers tab
Server Information(for Incoming) and Outgoing Server/Settings
an
Username.msn.com and pw are entered in Outgoing Server/Settings or the
option to use same settings as Incoming is checked(it will grey out the
other choices)
For OL..search for one of my prior posts(Jan 29) titled "Mns Pop3 Update
Revised

There are quite a few posts explaining the 'why'... in summary...the
deployment was not accomplished in the planned timeframe. Continue to
use the old settings and consider two options especially since no other
choices really exist
a. periodically try the new setting
o
b. use the old until they stop functioning
